Gal. 6:1 (KJV) : Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted

I have been asked why I am so invested in the fight against Christian Nationalism. I write and fight from several different intersections: A Black, Woman, Christian, Clergy and Mother.

For me, Christian Nationalism is a spiritual war. I’ll write more on that later. But for this post, I’ll address one thing. The people involved in CN (or if you must WCN) claim to be our brothers and sisters in Christ. No one can make any claims to the genuiness of their having accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. However, since they claim to be of the fold of the Jesus of Scripture, we who are spiritual, must work in the spirit of restoration. They are overtaken by the spirit of CN. Their eyes have been blinded and they have been bewitched.

There are those who would argue that there is no getting through to adherence of this false gospel. However, it remains our duty to show people the error and danger of their ways. We must, with tears and pleading, attempt to persuade these wayward sheep to return to the truth of the Christ given us in Scripture. Why must we do this? We must because Christ did it for us. We, at some point in our lives, were the wandering lost sheep that strayed from the fold. We, at some point, got the wrong information. We at some point in our own walks, bought into something that scratched a fleshly itch for us. We wanted to go our own way.

Mercifully, God put people in our path who showed us the error of our ways. They proved the Christ of scripture to us so that we were led to repentance and to renew our commitment to the words and life of the Christ of Scripture.

God’s goal for all of mankind has always been reconciliation. That’s why He sent Jesus. Paul, in writing to Galatia, warns them to “consider your own selves”. He warns us thusly because it is, as we can see, very easy for us to be seduced by power, greed and lust, even couched in scriptural language. We can be swayed by men uttering seducing words of enticement that lead us far away from what we have been preached.

We don’t have to wage this fight alone. We have been given the Holy Spirit’s power to enable us to give life giving words to hungry people. Adherents to CN are hungry. Unfortunately, another christ came and fed them because the true Church couldn’t or worse, wouldn’t. Tap into the Spirit’s power to give you the words of Jesus. Don’t be afraid of using your spiritual gifts in the work of restoration.

We must restore…
